So I am gearing up to start potty training Halle and would appreciate ANY advice that anyone has to offer. Just to give a background, she is interested in using the potty....loves the princess panties that we talk about... hates going #2 in her diaper... so I think we are ready. I already got some great advice from my friend Jamie but anything else would be helpful!!

Samye, I'm in the same boat right now! I have been dreading it...but when they're ready they're ready and they will let you know...my sister-in-law gave me an article from American Baby it's called 7 steps to potty-training success. I wonder if you go to americanbaby.com if you can find it there...anyway, the one that I found the most helpful is #3 Have her watch you empty her diaper in the potty or toilet. Explain that is where pee and poop go. The other ones are obvious ones, like having her watch you use the toilet, watch for signs that she needs to go, etc, etc. Rewarding her with m&m's works and making a big deal about it, celebrating that she going...anyway, this is very long...I'm still working with Brielle! Potty training is definitely my least favorite part of motherhood!!!! :)
Haha...okay, so I know I should be the last one giving you potty-training advice, but for my younger self, I know I was stubborn and didn't want to potty train. My mom said she bribed me with a stuffed seal that I especially wanted in JC Penney's, and she said I was potty-trained quicker than ever after that. So, I suppose bribes always work!
