Last Day of Preschool

Yesterday was Halle's last day of preschool! They celebrated by having a swim party and picnic. Even though it was 75 degrees outside the kids jumped right in the pool and had a blast! Here are some pics with her and her little friends!

And here is Halle with her teacher Miss Jenn.

Newport Beach

My dear sweet husband surprised me on Sunday night- and told me that on Monday morning (6am to be exact) we would be leaving to go to Newport Beach! It was such a fun getaway- Miles first time on the beach, and the kids were totally content to just play in the water and sand all day. Poor Bennett got a little chaffing due to his swimsuit so he spent most of his time in his underwear.

After playing in the beach all day we went back to the hotel, got cleaned up and headed to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, YUM! I have never been there and LOVED it. Sadly, I didn't get any cheesecake (gasp) but they looked very scrumptious....maybe i will have to go back and get some!
That night we tucked the kids in bed, then went to our room (oh, did I mention that I talked the manager of the hotel into upgrading us to a Jr. Suite for free?) and enjoyed a good nights sleep.

The next morning we played then checked out. We went down to the pier and enjoyed lunch at Ruby's diner on the pier. It was such a fun getaway, and will HAVE to do it again soon!

Marissa's Visit

I had an old college roomate stop in for two days with her daughter and it was SO MUCH FUN! Marissa was a roomate for my first summer up at BYU-Idaho, then my second summer we lived together (it was hard having continuous roomates when everyone was on different "tracks"). Then seeing as we had the same major we had a bunch of classes together, stayed in touch when she went on her mission, I got married, then she got married- and the last time we saw each other was when we were pregnant with our boys! It was fun spending time with her, and being able to see one of our other roomates Stephanie who just moved here! Sadly the only picture we took was outside of the airport as she was getting ready to leave! Thanks for coming...I had fun!

80's Party

We went to a friends' birthday party on Saturday night and got the babysitter to take our picture before we left...(funny that she couldn't stop staring at D's legs....man are they long)! We had a blast....

I think we did a pretty good job, hopefully Jennifer can get some pics to me because her costume was AWESOME. We had way too much fun- they had 80's karaoke, all sorts of "old school" candy, kool-aid, and the games that we all grew up on (girl talk, hungry hungry hippos, etc) thanks for such a fun night and glad Jacob is turning the big 3-0!!

IronGirl

Did you know that I paid over $100 cash money to get:

Swam on top of at Lake Las Vegas
To run barefoot through my first transition rendering my feet COMPLETLY black
Hitting my bike to find out that no it wasn't 12 miles but was 18 miles I was asked to ride.
Riding though one of the prettiest areas of Vegas if not THE Prettiest areas I have ever been in
Going so fast at one point, that I thought "If I hit a pothole and go flying, I really do believe I won't survive"
After racking my bike, realizing that I in fact do have sea legs...and was never on the sea to achieve this
Running through the dessert on a trail that has more hills than a ski slope
Realizing that, yes indeed my good friend is crazy because she CAME BACK to get me after finishing.
Realizing that I can and did finish the irongirl in GREAT time.
And that YES, I will be doing the irongirl again next year...because it was AWESOME.

I LOVED the irongirl and LOVE the feeling I have right now.

Going "Tamping"

Dustin and Bennett went on a Father & Son campout that our church "sponsored" on friday night. It was Bennett's first time EVER to camp outside...I know, bad parents for not getting him out there sooner. The boys had SO MUCH FUN together, and Bennett is asking when he can go "tamping" again. I loved spending time with Halle (and sidekick Miles) and enjoyed the girl time together. Poor Bennett has the worst allergies, they had to make a Benadryl run while out camping...even after taking an allergy pill! Dustin took the camera, enjoy the pics of the cutest little camper ever...
My boys in the tent-

Who wouldn't love goldfish at 5 in the morning?

My camper enjoying the great outdoors...

Wow....

Seriously has it already been over a week and a half? Time is going so fast... I was thinking up a good excuse for not getting more pics up...you know- I have no time, I have been on a blog vacation, I am way too busy with everything else I am trying to keep going. But in all reality I just don't want to. (And our computer is acting up...)but seriously, I know I need to update with what we are up to-what is happening with life. But sometimes I just don't feel like it. I need to get better, keep updating this thing as it is a journal of sorts of our life. So much has happened in the past couple days that I really do need to document it.

I am gearing up for my triathlon this next saturday...want to see me get my hiney handed to me? Come cheer me on...it only starts at 6:30 am. I had a 50 minute run this morning and it felt great, I had no desire to walk and felt like I could run forever. I love the training program that I am on- they give it to you in minutes. today was a 50 minute run, tomorrow is a 45 minute bike ride, with a 30 minute swim, and Saturday is a 60 minute bike ride. Geezz, this training is taking so much time- but I appreicate it for getting me into gear with working out. I can't believe I am doing this to myself (yes self inflicted pain here) with Miles being just shy of 6 months on race day.

Halle is a way too funny. She is super into making friends and will introduce herself to anyone (even the 13 year old girl at the park). She got this giraffe from one of Dustin's GA's the other night (we had them over for dinner) and seriously what else could a little girl want but a life sized girraffe.

Bennett is gearing up for the father and son campout this weekend. He is so super excited that he can hardly contain himself, and you bet I am excited for some one on one time with Halle (with a side of Miles of course). Who knows how Bennett will do, but I keep pushing Dustin to take him because, seriously, what better way could they spend Friday night?

Miles...sweet sweet Miles. He has won all of our hearts (even Bennett's!!). He is loving cereal, is working on sitting up, and loves to be spoken to. He is the easiest baby ever. He is sleeping from 8pm to 8 am just about every night -which is heaven! He is my first binkie baby....I love it although I do go into a panic if I can't find one handy. Life is good, and I don't think I could ask for anything else...
