Zoo-Boo

We went with some friends to the "zooboo" that they did this year. We got there nice and early (before the gates were even open), and Bennett was positive that Miles didn't want to wear his Halloween costume that we got- he wanted to be Buzz.

They had a pumpkin patch that the boys got to pick a pumpkin
Then decorate it. Miles still can't decide whether he is a lefty or a righty.

Bennett is most definitely a lefty. He even wrote his name on his pumpkin!!

These boys are just the best of buds...they play well together, and I have seen Bennett stick up for Miles so much it just makes my heart melt! (They also fight really well too)

He Plays Hard

Miles is a hard player. He goes and goes and goes until he just doesn't have anything left in him! He crashed after we joined some friends for lunch one day- and I thought I had cleaned him off for snooze. (Socks off, changed diaper...etc)

Until I noticed this next to him...sand. I have no idea where it came from.

Art Projects

The kids were working on art projects- quietly (wow) so I had to document it!

And Bennett- since he started preschool he can now sit and color for very long periods of time. (until  Miles comes along)

Counting

Our mouse on our desktop is still out of batteries...for the LIFE of me I can't seem to remember to pick them up. So, no pics again even though I have bunches to share.

I do have to write this down to remember though (obviously don't remember much these days)

Bennett was counting to 10 in spanish for me yesterday after preschool, it went something like this
uno
dos
tres
cockroach
cinco...
and then he continued...because in spanish cockroach means 4.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

I made these tonight, soooo good! And really easy. Just beware that this recipe makes a lot of cookies AND if tempted you might eat more than 6 (just sayin)

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt; set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup of butter and white sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla to butter mixture, and beat until creamy. Mix in dry ingredients. Drop on cookie sheet by tablespoonfuls; flatten slightly.
  3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool cookies, then drizzle glaze with fork.
  4. To Make Glaze: Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add milk as needed, to achieve drizzling consistency.

My BEST present...EVER.

I am trying to play catch up- and I CAN'T believe it has taken me this long to share this product with you guys!

Let's start off with a pre-story story. For the life of me I have never been able to find a way to find a candle that would make my whole house smell nice. Back a couple years ago a good friend shared Yankee Candle with me and I fell in love. Then I fell out of love when they discontinued my scent. Not OK.

I have a great friend in Vegas whose home ALWAYS smelled great, and to top it off she has three boys under the age of 4. She had a secret- I finally asked her about it and she shared what she used, but in my cheapo mind I thought I will burn through this product in no time...waste of $$.

It only took me another year to decide that I HAD to try it. My sweet mother-in-law got my new love for me and I am IN LOVE.

What is the product? Scentsy

For those of you who have never heard of it here is how it works- you first have to purchase something like this: (And this is the exact one I got)
That is your warmer. Then you purchase the wax that goes in it. This is where I questioned it, and figured I would burn through it in no time. I have had this thing on every day, for at least 5+ hours a day and have only used 2 wax squares. The smell doesn't stop, it always smells great...I just can't get enough!! I chose the following scents- they sounded great for the holiday season-

So far I have only used the Sticky Cinnamon Bun...and once again I have only used 2 bars!

After finding this product I thought to myself- "self...you have GOT to share this" So here I am sharing this. They have so many scents to chose from, they even have little mini warmers to put in places like bathrooms (hello who doesn't need those in their bathrooms?)

So HERE IS HOW THIS WORKS
If you are interested enough to buy- I am hosting a party!
  1. Go to this link
  2. See my name on the lower left hand side of the page?
  3. Click on it and browse the catalog.
  4. If you live local to me, it will ship free to my house and I can get it to you.
  5. If you don't live local no need to fret- you can still order but you will need to cover shipping. (Which is reasonable and totally worth it!)
  6. If you want some great recommends for different products let me know- I would LOVE to help out!!
Once again, THE.BEST.PRESENT.EVER!! Get one for you...get one for your mom...get one for your friend next door who has an issue with stinky house (She will thank you).

Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend we had the opportunity to head to Flower Mound (Dallas area) to spend time with my mother-in-law. We had so much fun!! First thing Saturday morning we headed to a pumpkin patch-
The weather was NICE and actually cool. It was such a nice change!
Both older kids lined up to see how tall they were...Miles was ONLY interested in doing this (see below)
Grammy finally convinced them to come with her for a hay ride around the patch.
While we waited for the hayride I had to get a kiddo picture.
Mr. Daredevil- loves climbing up as high as he can- and has NO balance.
The kids got to go for a ride around the pumpkin patch- even Dad got to go along...
By this point they were done taking pictures,
I just can't get over how cute they are. (They do always seem cuter when they are sleeping...right?)

We had so much fun this past weekend- Dustin and I couldn't believe how inexpensive this pumpkin patch was!! It cost us $5 TOTAL !! The only thing you had to pay for was the parking, and the pumpkins if you wanted one.
