Thanksgiving week

It has been such a fun week! My parents and siblings came into town last Sunday and have stayed with us all week long. It has been so so so nice, they have kept the kids SO busy while I work on trying to get Miles to get into some sleep routing. The boys have been super busy installing some custom closets (woohoo)! The closets look SO much better!! Here are a couple of pics from our week long adventures:

Meeting "the baby"

For some reason Miles is called "the baby" around here. Halle is the second mother, "don't do that to the baby", "why is the baby doing that", " it is my turn to hold the baby"...having a second mom is hard!

It also doesn't help when Halle feeds her baby from her "mipple" because her baby is hungry...such curiousity!!

Bennett just simply pokes him...looks at him... and then decides that he isn't that big of a threat so moves onto his next conquest.

We are doing great though, adding #3 has been a lot easier than I thought. Probably because I have a stud of a husband who has been doing EVERYTHING the past couple of days. Not only does he take the kids places all day long but he also gets up 1/2 the time at night to put the binky back in, or just snuggle Miles...I am so glad that I have a husband who spoils me so much! So thankful that I married such a wonderful guy!!

Home Free

I am home, and LOVING being home. We only stayed 24 hours in the hospital since they don't allow kids under 16 in (so sad!)! I am doing great, AMAZING how fast a recovery can be when you don't tear or have an episiotomy (tmi?). Seriously... a 9 lb baby and no issues. Anyway- also had to mention that we did name him- Miles Boyd Peterson (Boyd after both my brother and great grandfather). Miles is a champ, loves to eat and LOVES to snooze. So I am off to bed because I am exhausted!!

Please Welcome __________ __________ Peterson!!

After nine hours of labor build-up and five minutes of actual pushing we welcomed our new baby man-child to the world...9 lbs 2 oz, 21 inches, and one week early!! I fully expected to see sideburns and teeth on him with as giant as he seemed when he came out. Samye did incredible and pushed like a champ. And check out how beautiful she looked AFTER giving birth. She is posing with our incredible nurse, Micki. Obviously, we are stumped on names. At first we were thinking of some soft, gentle, classic names, but after seeing his sheer size and huskiness we are considering Bubba, Bear, Ox, or some variation of those names. We'll keep you updated. Careful on some of those pictures and videos...there are some borderline gross umbilical cord shots. That's what happens when Dad's in charge of blogging. :)

Dr. Update

Will I make the weekend? That is the big question. I am dialated to a 3, and 95-100% effaced. According to my Dr. as soon as I start feeling anything I need to jet to the hospital because this baby will come shooting out. (nice...real nice) We also found out that the hospital doesn't have any wifi (seriously?) so when I do go into labor D will try and update when he can!! Wish us luck!

Dr. Apt

Went to the Dr. again today. I geared myself up for a battle me (not wanting to be induced) vs. Him (wanting to get this baby here asap), and I won. Well, it really wasn't a win but it did feel good to be listened to. He apologized for the stunt last week saying he really didn't mean to do all that he did-he was just trying to see if the baby was head down.

It was a productive visit though, little boy has dropped completely and I am 90% effaced. He said that "My cervix is very favorable to have a baby"...well thanks. Which brings me to a conversation I had with a friend yesterday (my supporter for waiting for this big boy to come) and she reassured me that "because I have Italian blood I was born to have babies, big babies." Thanks Jenna! We have this theory that when babies are brought into the world before they are completely ready they are "bad babies". They don't sleep as well, don't eat as well and have other numerous issues. Halle was induced two weeks early and she was...well a challenge for the first month or so. Bennett on the other hand came on his own time schedule and was sleeping and eating like a champ. Now, I realize that all babies are different- but I don't think I have talked with one person who has disagreed with me that if you bring the baby before it is medically necessary they aren't as happy as what they could be. Anyway- here's to a good weekend-
