Happy Birthday to Samye!

Today is Samye's 27th birthday! Sam, I just wanted to let you know how much we love and appreciate you. We are all so glad you were born and are a part of our lives! For your birthday, I have asked the kids not to argue and to talk nice...there is a good chance they will not give you that for your birthday. But just so you know, I asked. Have a great day!

Halle's First Day of Kindergarten!!

This morning was Halle's first day of school! She was so super excited to get going and I believe was awake around 5:30 to get ready. We all took her to school, and at first she was timid until she saw her little friend there and then had no problem leaving us! Her teacher seems great and we are excited to hear how the first day went when she gets home! Here are some first day pics-

Miles 9 Months checkup

Miles had his 9 month appointment last week- everything went great.

He weighed in at 22 lbs and 30 inches long...nice and healthy! He is such a sweet baby and so loving. He can scoot backwards, and roll to wherever he wants to get to but has no desire to crawl (as of right now). He is sleeping through the night (has been for awhile), loves his binkie (woohoo to no finger sucking) and has a thing with blondes. One of the counselors in the primary has super blonde hair and he LOVES going to her...hum. He is still nursing somewhat but loves to drink out of a bottle. We love you sweet Miles!

Halle's First Soccer practice

Halle started soccer...yes in 110+ heat. She is having fun, although she did tell me that she didn't like playing with all those kids- they needed to move so she could kick the ball. This season should be interesting.
The boys came with- Bennett had a blast squirting everyone with the soccer waterbottle, and Miles found a sucker in my purse-that kept him busy for a very long time.

Party Trick

Do you want to see Miles' new party trick...?

Watch carefully

Yes, he can fit the ENTIRE ball in his mouth.

If that isn't impressive... I don't know what is.

Shoppin for boots...suggestions?

I am in the market for some brown calf length no heal boots...any suggestions on where to look? These are nice...but I don't like the pricetag...at all. I have been watching one of the BEST shoe sites ever (www.6pm.com ...and if you have never looked..take a look it is delightful)! But nothing yet...any stores that anyone would recomend...hum...

Drivin in cars

The kids have so much fun driving... we were impressed that Halle could get that truck going with Bennett sitting in the back.

Sunday Walk

Last week we had a cold front...it was around 85 at about 5pm so we took an evening walk. You can tell how well these two get along...and how much he adores her.

And this little guy...super smoochie.

Swimming

We have been doing ALOT of swimming around here lately... (what else do you do when it has been 105+ every day for...3 months?) Here are some shots of my boys!

Mid-day bath

Miles is the sweetest little thing! He is also the messiest! Here he is mid-day getting a little after lunch rinse. Sometimes it is just easier to put him in the sink rather than get him with a washcloth!

Crash

Our desktop computer crashed. Hence the lack of posting. You would think after reading a couple of blog posts from others about their computers crashing that I would make sure all photos etc were safe...but no. We lost EVERY photo since 2006 except for what is on my blog and what little I saved to snapfish. So for now- no photos...just the warning to make sure you have all your photos saved in a second spot for the "just in case".

"Tamping"

We went "tamping" (as Bennett calls it) this past weekend and it was beautiful!! We went up to Mt. Charleston and it was beautiful! It was the high of 72 during the day and it got down to the low 50's at night...a bit chilly for us Vegasites!

If I told you this was an oreo cookie would that make it better?

MIles LOVED rubbing his binkie in the dirt than sticking it in his mouth...we found him after he had done it a couple of times while we were setting up the tent.

Halle is full of personality- she couldn't wait to get into her tent to go to sleep. She was so super excited!!

Bennett loves camping, especially because he gets to go potty outside...

Fun in the neighborhood

Another fun day in the neighborhood...this was really one of the wackiest expierences that I have ever had! Read on-
Friday we were coming home from the grocery store (me and the kids) when we pulled around the corner of our street I saw this guy parked up on the curb a good 1/2 mile up. When I turned the corner he immediantly put his car in reverse and backed up very fast. He then did a 180 so that he would be facing me in his car. At this point i had opened the garage door and was pulling in. As I was pulling I saw him coming at me VERY FAST- I got in the garage as fast as I could and started closing the garage door when I saw him pull up in our driveway (sideways...and squishing some plants along the way), almost as if he were coming at us. I immediantly locked all doors and stayed in the car- I called Dustin who was on his way home and told him what was happening then called our local dispatch and 911. I reported what happened and got the kiddos in our home asap. Dustin pulled up about 3 minutes later and the guy was now standing in the middle of the street and started challenging Dustin in his car. He would run as fast as he could at D's car, then shout a couple things at him. D stayed in his car, and I at this point had given dispatch his cell # so he was talking with them letting them know what was happening. The guy then started running around, he destroyed a neighbors grill, then started hidding places. As soon as 3 cop cars pulled up Dustin came in and parked. An ambulance and firetruck soon came too...the guy ended up passing out and they took him away. He actually lives down the street from us- and the reason he was acting so crazy? Alcohol...way too much alcohol. He is now in a rehab after being in the hospital for a couple of days and his parents have moved all of his belongings out of his home.
