Newport Beach

My dear sweet husband surprised me on Sunday night- and told me that on Monday morning (6am to be exact) we would be leaving to go to Newport Beach! It was such a fun getaway- Miles first time on the beach, and the kids were totally content to just play in the water and sand all day. Poor Bennett got a little chaffing due to his swimsuit so he spent most of his time in his underwear.

After playing in the beach all day we went back to the hotel, got cleaned up and headed to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, YUM! I have never been there and LOVED it. Sadly, I didn't get any cheesecake (gasp) but they looked very scrumptious....maybe i will have to go back and get some!
That night we tucked the kids in bed, then went to our room (oh, did I mention that I talked the manager of the hotel into upgrading us to a Jr. Suite for free?) and enjoyed a good nights sleep.

The next morning we played then checked out. We went down to the pier and enjoyed lunch at Ruby's diner on the pier. It was such a fun getaway, and will HAVE to do it again soon!

Um...NICE!!
I'm a little shocked that you didn't get cheesecake though. For goodness sakes it's the name of the restaurant! If you ever need someone to go with, I'm available.

What a fun surprise, it looks like a blast!!

That could be the sweetest and most thoughtful surprise EVER! We love the beach and are on the 36 hour countdown until we are on a plane headed there ourselves! Miles looks plenty content in the sand!

So did you stay at one of the Marriotts? I am so impressed you got them to give you a suite!! What a fun little get away.

Rock on!!! Do you think you could "secretly" have Dustin convince Zach to do the same thing sometime SOON? Sounds awesome!!! You deserve it!

I was just up the road from you in Huntington. We were there Sat. and Sun. mostly, and the weather was CRAPPY. You picked a good time to go because the weather was nice on Monday. And the best way to eat cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory is to order it to go when you happen to be in the vicinity of the restaurant. It's so much better to enjoy at home.
