Happy Birthday Dustin!

Today was such a wonderful day- we celebrated Dustin's birthday!! He turned the big 29 and I think loved every moment of it! We started off this morning with a breakfast of bacon, french toast, bacon, and eggs...oh and yes bacon (yes he does need to get his cholesterol checked) but it was fantastic! Then for lunch we went and surprised him up at work with a huge Texas Sheet cake (I found a FANTASTIC recipe) and some balloons. We "kidnapped him" and took him to lunch. Then he got home fro work and we had shishkabobs (his fav) with a mint chocolate chip icecream cake for dessert. The kids gave them their presents- and Halle kept the secret for a whole 24 hours!! Halle got him a kite and Bennett got him a football...and both kids were super excited that they got the coolest presents ever for their dad!! We are about to go enjoy a movie together, but wanted to wish my hubby a Happy Birthday and let him know that he means the world to me!! I love you!!!

(Birthday pics to follow soon!!!)

Fair

We went to the County Fair today...what a MISERABLE day to go! But we had a blast! Dustin just laughed and said it was bringing me back to my roots. It rained the entire time we were there and was about 50 degrees...a big change from what the weather at our house was!!
We went to the pig races:

Enjoyed the carousel:

And Halle got her face painted:

We had a blast, but decided that next year we will have to check the weather up there before we head out!!

Easter Eggs

We made Easter eggs on Friday night...and it just gets messier and messier the older these kiddos get! They had so much fun though, although Bennett did find that eating the egg with the shell does not taste good!!

Playing Around

In an effort to keep up with his big sister Bennett has now started "trying" to ride the trike that we have...and trying entails him scooting with his feet and getting upset when he can't keep up.

Here is Halle, she has found a lot for tracing people as they lay on the cement (yes our side yard looks a little bit like a CSI crime scene...and the cause for Bennett's pink knees). Don't mind the outfit either...she got herself dressed which included that pink shirt, jean shorts, with leggings over the shorts and no hair...funny little girl!

Barbie Pool

Here are some pics from this week. We finally got out one of Halle's Christmas presents-a barbie swimming pool...aka a water disaster. The kids loved it! Halle would gently let her barbie go down the slide, teach her to swim...you know all the caring girly things! While Bennett would chuck his Ken doll (it really belongs to Halle, but we decided Ken would be better then a topless girl...) he would throw his doll as hard as he could to see how much it would splash. I decided fun time was over once Halle was mopping the cement with Barbies hair and Bennett was trying to get into the pool.

April Fool's Memory

A couple years ago my Grandpa (ok a lot of years ago) worked for a refinerary in Utah with LOTS of other men. He wore like a one piece thermal to keep him warm with only holes in the appropriate places to go to the bathroom. On the night before April Fools Day my Grandma got busy with her project...not telling anyone what she was doing. Everyone woke up that morning and nothing seemed too out of place. So, everyone went to their appropriate destination. Grandpa went to work along with all the other men in the area...and up until mid-morning was having a great day. When all of a sudden he decided that he needed to go to the bathroom. He went to the urinals to (excuse me) but relieve himself when all of a sudden he couldn't get his under-roos open. (Mind you he has on pants, and a nice shirt over his under-roos.) Looking down he realized that my Grandma had sewn his under-roos closed. SO-in order to go to the bathroom he had to take off his shirt, take off his pants, and unbutton his under-roos, pull them down and THEN go to the bathroom.

Happy April Fool's Day...hopefully everyone keeps their pants dry today!
