Happy Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween. We went to our church party last night (I won best costume...thanks Erin!) and did the whole trunk or treating thing. Tonight we went trick or treating door to door and the kids loved it. It got a bit chilly in the end but overall a VERY successfull weekend!

Almost 37 weeks

I am just about at 37 weeks (Monday) but wanted to get this picture up. (sorry for the light...little sunny here!)

Belly is getting bigger and bigger. Dr. says everything looks great-except for the size of little boy. At my visit yesterday we did some measuring etc and he says baby boy is weighing in at about 7lbs right now...(yes I still havea 3 weeks to go)! Looks like he will be nice and big and healthy! Along with this visit the Dr also decided to strip my membranes (too much info?) without telling me or even asking. Nice...real nice. My Dr. is still pushing to induce me around the 12th or 13th and I still don't want to. ( I think he thinks I am crazy) Ggrrrrr..... Only a couple more visit though right??

Easter Seals Halloween

Last night we went to the Easter Seals Halloween "bash". The Rebel Service Council (UNLV) puts it on so of course we had to be there to support! The kids had a blast..although Bennett wasn't too sure about anything that was going on. Once he realized that he got candy by going to people's cars he was hooked!

Halle went as a ballerina kitty (she saw the costume in the P.B. kids catalog and wanted it so we tried to recreate it...wasn't about to spend $69 on a kids costume!) and Bennett was a skeleton. Bennett LOVED the fact that his costume glowed in the dark...and loved it even more when he found out they were pajamas and he could wear them to bed! Very successfull evening-and we are looking forward to many more functions that we will be going to this week!!

Halloween Ideas...HELP!

I need help. Halloween is next weekend and I still have yet to find a Halloween costume. Seeing as I am 9 months pregnant I would rather not spend $$ on a costume (hopefully I won't be pregnant over Halloween again...knock on wood), but I need ideas on I can dress up as!! Or better yet, any costumes in the area that I can borrow??

Pumpkin man!

Yesterday Dustin completed his first triathlon!! Woohoo! AND- after having a couple really good workouts he (crazily) thought he should do the olympic instead of the sprint...(After training for months for the sprint...and 3 days before switching)! The olympic is 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike ride (straight uphill the whole way...I think you gain 1,000+ feet in elevation during the bike) and a 6.2 mile run). He did such a great job, and it was so much fun supporting him!!

Dustin after the swim, he said he loved the swim! The only downfall is that you can't really see where you are going so he got kicked a couple of times and swam off course a bit!

Biking...he told me at this point he thought he was going to die. There were ALOT of athletes spread out along the trail, laying in the grass not able to go on. It was a very hot day to race (90+).

Here he is putting his bike away...thinking there is NO way he will accomplish the run.

A little after race family picture!!

He did such a great job and I am so proud of him!! He finished so strong and did so wonderful!! Right now he says he will never do another one again...but I am already talking about one in March that I want to do-and I am pretty sure he will join me!

Free Paint!

Glidden is giving away (seriously...free) paint...and today is the last day! Go here and register! Took me 2 minutes (maybe) to do it...and now I will have paint coming my way to take care of one of my many projects.

Today is the last day......so hurry up!

Apple Picking

Yesterday we went to an apple orchard (the one and only in Vegas) and wanted to pick apples! Although it didn't feel like fall (75+ and very sunny) we had an enjoyable time teaching the kids about apples. The kids were fascinated with finding apples on trees (although there were very few left) and Bennett was very excited to see bugs in all the rotten apples. Next year we will have to go a lot sooner in the season- that way we can really get some good sized apples!

Pajamas and Dentist

It has been a busy week, and it doesn't help that the batteries on my mouse died a couple days ago so I haven't been able to upload pictures at all!

The weather has finally started to cool down a bit here, which means that we had to get some warmer jammies for the kids. (Buying pajamas...such a bummer now*) Anyway- as you can see Bennett was having a hard time with long sleeves. Anytime I put him in long sleeves he flips out and must have his hands covered at all times. He is such a silly boy sometimes!!

On another note the kids had a Dentist appointment this week. Halle did GREAT! She let them take X-rays, cleaned her teeth, flossed and everything else!! She sat there the whole time and especially loved the pink sunglasses she got to wear!

Bennett on the other hand was not a fan. All of a sudden he has developed some sort of fear of loud noises (vacuums, dustbusters, blowdryers...) he just plugs his ears until the noise stops. So when he heard the "cleaner drill" he flipped out not wanting anything to do with the dentist. So I ended up having till lay him on my lap (what lap?) and on the Dentists lap and we pried his little lips apart...finally he settled down and let the Dentist take a look and count teeth (but I was still holding him, hence no picture). Both of my finger suckers teeth are doing well, no cavities etc. (yeah...both of them suck their fingers, and I am GOING to have a binky baby next time).

*Growing up we used to receive pajamas all the time, and even up until my dad's company sold we got pajamas for the kids for free....now that my dad is "retired" it is not the case anymore...and pajamas ARE EXPENSIVE!

Growing?

My "little" boy just ate 6 chicken nuggets and 2 corndogs for lunch...not the healthiest combo but man alive are we in trouble when he gets to be a teenager. (And yes, I am talking about Benenett).
