Yesterday Dustin completed his first triathlon!! Woohoo! AND- after having a couple really good workouts he (crazily) thought he should do the olympic instead of the sprint...(After training for months for the sprint...and 3 days before switching)! The olympic is 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike ride (straight uphill the whole way...I think you gain 1,000+ feet in elevation during the bike) and a 6.2 mile run). He did such a great job, and it was so much fun supporting him!!
Dustin after the swim, he said he loved the swim! The only downfall is that you can't really see where you are going so he got kicked a couple of times and swam off course a bit!
Biking...he told me at this point he thought he was going to die. There were ALOT of athletes spread out along the trail, laying in the grass not able to go on. It was a very hot day to race (90+).
Here he is putting his bike away...thinking there is NO way he will accomplish the run.
A little after race family picture!!
He did such a great job and I am so proud of him!! He finished so strong and did so wonderful!! Right now he says he will never do another one again...but I am already talking about one in March that I want to do-and I am pretty sure he will join me!
Wonderful Christmas Time

Wow! congratulations Dustin! That is quite an accomplishment. I'm glad there are people like you guys around who are crazy enough to do things like this and make the rest of us (who get winded just walking to the mail box) feel like lazy couch potatoes.
You CRAZY, CRAZY guy! I love it! Congratulations! We're so proud of you...... Be sure and ask for lots of foot rubs, back rubs, etc. today and enjoy the "after glow"!!!

Way to go Dustin!! That's AWESOME!! And Samye--you're looking great!
Congratulations, Dustin. This is an incredible accomplishment.
May I just say that I wish you'd gone with the other shorts you were considering? Dan just bought a new pair of racing Daisy Dukes, and says they feel great. Just a suggestion.
Anyway (and seriously): great job!
