Cookies and Waffles

So we have a new cook in the family. Halle has grown to love cooking with mom...our only problem is that she eats more than she helps!! On Thursday night (Dustin's late night) we made Valentine Day sugar cookies. At first she was excited to just be siting on the counter and watching what I was doing. Then she loved helping push the cookie cutters in...and then it hit. Wait.. I can eat this cookie dough? After that is was a mad rush (on my part) to get as many cookies on the cookie sheet before she could inhale all the dough! After the cookies came out and cooled we frosted them AND put sprinkles on. At that point all she wanted to do was lick the frosting off of the cookies-and that is what she did!!

Something else that happened (dustin said I had to mention this one) well I went in on Halle after nap time and she was (picture this) sitting indian style in her crib picking the sock lint out of her toes going...ewwww and putting the lint in between the slats of her crib so they wouldn't be near her. Such a comic.

This morning we made waffles, and of course our little cook wanted to help out. I think she remembered the cookies all to vividly though as the first thing she did was put the spoon in the batter to stir and took it out and licked it. The funniest part is the fact that she actually like the batter and tried going in for more!! She loves her waffles..just like her mommy!!!

Other than that nothing big has happened. Dustin is applying for internships all over for the summer and we will just have to see what happens. Today is is 13 degrees outside...it was -5 when I woke up. It is suppose to get to 40 by the end of next week...we are super excited!!! We just can't wait till is starts getting warm enough so we can start going to parks again...and Halle can walk around outside without the fear of frostbite setting in within the first 5 minutes!!

Ilove it..especially the lint in her toes! She really does love to be a "helper"..."train them up in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it!!" I mailed your package this a.m.--hope it gets there in time for Valentine's day!
Love you!
