My brave husband

Saturday night we had the General Relief Society broadcast for our church, and yes I have been looking forward to this. A friend of mine was going to ride with me (the long 7 minute drive), and we were going to enjoy each other's company through the broadcast, then enjoy a Prime Rib dinner...with no kids (lovely)! My husband decided since it was him and the kids from 4:45 on he was going to take them to Chuck E. Cheese. Brave soul? Yes! (Mind you, I am never dying to go there...I think I get the from my parents - you know kids screaming, gross food everywhere...and lots and lots of germs.) Anyway the kids had a blast, and my sweet husband loved every moment of it...such a wonderful dad and husband. Just check out the pictures!

Ms & Mr Olympia

Friday night we went to the Mr. Olympia finals and Mr. Olympia pre-lems competition. It was quite the adventure for both of us.

Due to light issues we couldn't get a real clear shot of them, so we went for the big screen shot to try and show what they women looked like.

Once again...quite the experience but it was a lot of fun for a date night!!

Halle's New Bike

After the wheel fell off of her trike we decided she needed a new bike. Check out the wheels!

And Bennett came along for the ride in "his" car...(another hand me down...don't you love the ribbons and flowers on the car?)

A proud little rider!!

We have only had one accident- and she is riding like a pro!!

Hiking

We went hiking last weekend (I know, I have taken forever in posting) and we had a blast. Well...the first mile we did, after that things really started dragging.

Nermal tv

A conversation that we just had when Halle woke up from snooze:

Halle- "mom can I watch a nermal tv show?"

Mom- "a normal tv show?"

Halle-"yeah...in spanish...that is how daddy likes his tv. a kids show in spanish please"

Mom-"what about Clifford in english?"

Halle-"thats a bummer...no spanish clifford...ok lets watch it."

I don't know where this all came from...but it is pretty darn cute.

Princess Spaghetti-O's

I have never been a fan of spaghetti-o type meals...the smell of it almost makes me gag. Seriously. But, for 89 cents of pure joy my kids LOVED them. For lunch we decided to give it a try- Bennett ate half the can and couldn't get enough.

Halle ate the other half, and of course she had a white shirt on so immediately she spilled (of course right?) and so it went right in the washer!

On another note I got a bike today...yeehaw! I am getting fitted on Monday morning (it was a huge sale so they didn't have time to officially fit me) but I am super excited! Triathlon is only 4 weeks away... and training is going great!!

Urgent Care

We had quite the night last night- poor poor Bennett. It all started on Tuesday when I gave him a sip of milk for lunch (he is 1) and then put him down for nap. When he woke up he had a fever, nothing too serious so I just figured he would get over it. When he woke up on Wednesday morning he had huge hives all over his legs-like the size of half dollars! I called the nurse and he said to try giving him milk again (whatever) I thought that was stupid advice so I ignored it and just kept him on Benadryl and Motrin all day. I called the nurse again around noon (luckily) I spoke with another nurse and she told me to keep up the meds and to not let him go anywhere near milk products just in case they were the cause of this. I kept him all doped up until around 7:30 when I finally took his temp again and it came in at 104 and he still had major hives all over!! I called the nurse again and he said to take him in to the Urgent Care immediantly. SO- since Dustin has late night meetings I called a friend, she came and got Halle while her husband and another friend and her husband (confusing I know, but trying to not use names) came over to give Bennett a blessing. (As a side not for those not a member of our church- we believe that all male members of the Church who are worthy and prepared may receive the priesthood to help lead the Church and serve Heavenly Father’s children. A man with the priesthood might serve by leading congregations of the Church, performing the ordinances of the Church (such as baptism), and blessing those who are sick. God expects those who hold this sacred priesthood authority to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve with love, gentleness, and kindness.) ANYWAY- they came over and gave Bennett a blessing to feel better and then one of my very dear friends volunteered to go to the Doctor with me. We headed over there at 8:15 ready for a long night. We waited, and talked....and talked and waited... until we finally got in and got seen. They had no idea what was causing all of this and decided that they should check for a bladder infection. They checked and nothing. The doctor sent stuff to the labs for them to check and told us to go home and just watch and wait. If he gets any worse to go in asap. We got home around 1:00 am...Bennett was wasted and we were exhausted. As I fell asleep last night I just prayed that everything would be ok. Bennett woke up around 10am (it was a really long night) and all symptoms were gone. Hives were gone, his fever was gone, and his eyes (you know how sick babies eyes just look sick?) well they looked great. How thankful am I that I have such wonderful friends, and for the opportunity to have the priesthood in my life to help when needed. It was a stressfull night, but I am glad that it has ended the way it has.

Birthday party

Bennett had a FANTASTIC birthday party! He invited everyone he could think of (and there were alot of people)! It started raining right before but that made it even more fun!
He had a great birthday cake

Another angle

He had lots of helpers to blow out the candle!

He was more interested in sweeping with the broom than hitting the car with it.

Now Halle was determined to hit the car as hard as she could!

Home Birthday party

This was Bennett's family birthday party- as you can see he is totally stoked!

Halle is just thrilled to be here...we had to have a talk with her about the fact that this is Bennett's party- so he needs to open his presents. That is when the excitement really got going.

He wasn't excited at all for the birthday cake. It was sticky...and it was a bread product. (He is a meat lover)!

Opening presents- he really got the hang of it and started tearing the paper off. Halle was a little dissapointed that she couldn't help.

Bennett loved all of his presents!

Daddy's Helper

Bennett just loves helping his dad!

Happy Birthday Bennett!!

Happy Birthday Bennett! Today is Bennett's first birthday- he has been with our family for just a year but we couldn't imagine life without him! He brings such joy and pleasure to all of us-and adds a touch of masculinity to all the toys that we have...(helps Halle with her athletic side too)!! These are just some pictures taken throughout the year, and I will put more up of his party tonight-and his HUGE birthday party that we have planned for tomorrow night (43 guests+) we are so thankful for our little man and are excited to see what the next year brings!!

ps- if you live in the Vegas area and haven't heard about his party PLEASE email me so I can get you info!! We want to invite EVERYONE!!

Baggage Oops!

Heard this one and just had to share, this is one of those situations where you can't help but feel sorry for someone and at the same time it's hard to not laugh.

A 78 year-old woman checking in at Sweden's main airport has probably just had her worst airport experience ever.

The woman was preparing to fly from Stockholm's Arlanda airport to Germany on Tuesday.

But, unfortunately, she misunderstood some instructions while checking in and placed herself on the unmanned baggage belt, instead of her luggage!

Seriously!

Grandma was then whisked away down a baggage chute!!!!

She ended up at the baggage handling centre.

Luckily staff members were on hand to help her get up.

And, on a very good note, she suffered NO serious injuries and was even able to catch her flight to Germany.

Poor, old lady. We have a feeling she won't be flying anytime soon.

She definitely shouldn't be traveling alone!

Weekend with Dad

My dad came in town last weekend and we just had a blast with him!! He got really lucky and we hit a cold front with a high of 98 on Saturday!
My dad and Halle racing up the hill at the local park. We took my dad to the cutest park to play with the kids.

On Saturday we went to the dolphin habitat and the Siegfried and Roy gardens.

I had to get a picture with the jaguar, it was the only animal we never got to see in Africa.

So cute!
